Terms of Use

1. What Stokit provides

Stokit helps households organize pantry items, shared shopping needs, stores, shopping trips, receipts, recipe suggestions, arrival reminders, and grocery spending. It is an organizational tool, not financial, accounting, tax, dietary, medical, or nutritional advice.

2. Accounts

An account is required. You are responsible for protecting your sign-in details and for activity performed through your account. Notify us if you believe somebody has accessed it without permission.

You must be legally able to accept these terms where you live and at least 13 years old in the United States or 16 in the European Economic Area.

3. Shared households

Household members can view and change shared pantry, shopping, store, trip, receipt, spending, and activity records. They can also see each other's display names and profile photos. Only add information you are willing to share with every current member.

An invite code permits a signed-in person to join and access the household. Share it carefully. Resetting the code prevents further use of the previous code but does not remove existing members.

4. Your content

You retain your rights in content you provide. You grant us the limited permission needed to store it, synchronize it, share it with the household you selected, deliver notifications, search for stores and recipes at your request, and process receipt images.

Do not upload content you do not have the right to use. Do not include sensitive information on a receipt or profile image unless you are willing to process and share it as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Receipt scanning and spending

Automated receipt extraction can be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for checking the figures. Do not rely on Stokit for a purpose requiring guaranteed financial accuracy. Weekly spending is an organizational estimate calculated from finalized receipt totals.

6. Store search, recipes, and arrival alerts

Store results, coordinates, recipe information, and arrival detection depend on third-party services, device permissions, network availability, and data accuracy. Results and reminders may be missing, late, or wrong.

After you enable Store Arrival Alerts, a qualifying arrival can automatically notify eligible household members that a household shopper arrived at the trip stop. Do not rely on an arrival alert for safety or any time-critical purpose.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Stokit unlawfully; upload unlawful or infringing content; attempt to access another household; interfere with, probe, scan, or overload the service; bypass access controls; or resell or redistribute the app except where law permits. We may restrict an account that violates these terms.

8. Availability and changes

Stokit is provided on an as-available basis. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features and service providers may change, and third-party services can become unavailable.

9. Ending use and account deletion

You may stop using Stokit at any time. Permanent account deletion is available at Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion removes the account and user-specific data described in the Privacy Policy. Household-owned structured records remain for other active members with the deleted account's authorship anonymized; a household with no remaining members is purged.

We may close an account that materially breaches these terms or if we discontinue the service, subject to applicable law.

10. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Stokit is provided “as is” without warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, missed reminders, incorrect automated receipt results, or decisions based on app information. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will change the effective date. If a change materially affects your use, we will provide an appropriate notice. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
